About Marchesi Gondi

The Gondi family has held this estate in Chianti Rufina, northeast of Florence, since 1592. Marchese Bernardo Gondi and his sister Donatella now represent the 25th generation of wine producers here. The property spans 315 hectares, with 19 dedicated to vineyards and 32 to olive groves. A Colorino clone has been reproduced on the land for over 100 years. The portfolio includes Sangiovese, Colorino, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Trebbiano Toscano, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc, yielding approximately 800 to 900 hectoliters annually. Poggio a Diamante, first planted in the mid-1800s, earned distinction at the 1889 Paris Expo. The cellars sit partly underground beneath the Villa and partly under the park. Vineyard tours are available.
