About Lightwell Survey Wines
Lightwell Survey Wines began in 2015 at the South River Mill complex in Waynesboro, with winemaker Ben Jordan and partners Sebastian Zutant, Jay Zutant, Julian Caustrita, and John DeNapoli. The first harvest came through a partnership with Early Mountain Vineyards in Madison. The program makes small batches of lively reds, dense whites, and unique combinations of the two. The portfolio includes 2023 Two In The Hands, 2025 Electric Juice Box, 2023 Goodbye Horses, 2023 Hintermen, 2023 The Weird Ones Are Wolves, 2024 Like a Lion, and 2024 Los Idiots. The tasting room opens Saturdays from April through November, noon to five. Reservations are encouraged but not required. Dogs welcome. No food is sold inside, though picnics are invited.
