Lesehof STAGÅRD

About

Lesehof STAGÅRD sits in Krems an der Donau, where Benedictine monks planted wine and cultivated apricots centuries ago. The old cellar has existed for nearly 1000 years. Urban T. Stagård represents ten generations of winemaking since his family took over the Lesehof in 1786, continuing a lineage that traces to 1424. The name itself arrived in the 1980s, brought from Sweden by Urban's father. Today the program centers on Riesling, Grüner Veltliner, Weißburgunder, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muskateller, all made biodynamically on primordial rock terraces in Krems-Stein.
