About Klug
Klug has been established in Stainz since 1792, working the Schilchergebiet from their vineyard at Ried Hochgrail. Markus and Wolfgang produce Blauer Wildbacher, Sauvignon Blanc, Weissburgunder, and Gelber Muskateller. The Sauvignon Blanc from their Summerhansl private vineyard, in production since 2015, won the Styrian state wine competition. In 1990 they began cultivating chestnuts, now tending approximately 400 trees across four plantations representing over 15 different varieties. The tasting room opens Monday through Saturday 8am to 6pm, Sunday 8.30am to 11.30am, and group tastings are available by reservation.

Visitors can taste all wines anytime during business hours (Mon-Sat 8-18, Sun 8:30-11:30) or by appointment outside these times. Guided tastings for groups available with advance reservation.

Visitors can learn about the winery's chestnut plantation with over 15 different varieties grown across four plantations since 1990.
