Graben Gritsch

About

Graben Gritsch sits in the Spitzer Graben, a seven-kilometer stretch of the Wachau between Spitz and Mühldorf. The vineyard soils are almost entirely primary rock, weathered granite. As a member of Vinea Wachau's quality association, the house works within three classifications. Steinfeder wines max out at 11.5% alcohol. Federspiel ranges from 11.5 to 12.5%. Smaragd begins at 12.5% and above. For over forty years, the program has paired wine tastings with local cuisine and regional specialties. The winery also hosts a traditional Gourmetfestival with selected top chefs.
