About
Winzerfamilie Pfalz has been making wine in Hohenruppersdorf since 1610. Michael, Rosemarie, and Markus, each master winemakers, tend the vineyard as a family operation. Nearly all grapes are hand-harvested. The program centers on Grüner Veltliner, Weißburgunder, Riesling, Muskat Ottonel, Welschriesling, and Sämling, with the house moving toward organic certification. The Muskat Ottonel has drawn gold at AWC Vienna in consecutive years. Markus's natura 2022 earned NÖ Gold and 92 points from A la Carte. The Cuvée Stefan 2018 took first place in the Jungwinzer Competence Trophy. A tasting room and vineyard tours welcome visitors. Pfalz to go, a self-service shop, stocks wines, grape juice, fruit preserves, and elderflower syrup. Tanja's Weingartenei keeps chickens in the vineyard.
