About
Pfalz has operated in Hohenruppersdorf since 1610, a family operation now led by Michael, Rosemarie, and Markus. Nearly all grapes are hand-harvested across vineyards that include Tanja's Weingartenei, where chickens are kept. The program centers on Grüner Veltliner, Weißburgunder, Riesling, Muskat Ottonel, Welschriesling, and Sämling. Recent accolades include AWC Vienna Gold for the Fernweh 2023 Muskat Ottonel and the Muskat Ottonel 2024, Gold recognition for the Ried Zwiefänger Grüner Veltliner as Austria's best price-to-quality wine, and NÖ Gold for Markus' natura 2022, which scored 92 points from A la Carte. The Cuvée Stefan 2018 took first place in the Jungwinzer Competence Trophy. The cellar is moving toward BIO certification. Beyond the tasting room and cellar tours, Pfalz to go offers wines, grape juice, red wine liqueur, fruit preserves, and elderberry syrup.
