About White Mule Winery
White Mule Winery sits in a turn-of-the-century farmstead house in Owensville, Missouri, surrounded by 100+ year reconstructed barns. The Schlottach Family acquired the Roethemeyer Farm in 2004 and planted their first vineyard that same year. The program focuses on Norton, Chardonel, Vidal, and Vignoles, with the Norton bottled dry and the whites in semi-dry styles. Double Tree White, named after a two-mule hitch, blends two varieties. The tasting room opens Tuesday through Thursday and Sunday from 11 AM to 5 PM, Friday and Saturday until close. Closed Mondays. Food is available, with a restaurant serving meals Friday evening, Saturday afternoon and evening, and Sunday afternoon. A picnic area and Bed & Breakfast in a 100+ year old farm home are also on the property.
