Wachter

About

Pellendorf, Weinviertel. Wachter was founded in 1996 and has been farming organically for over 25 years. Elisabeth and Simon took over as the fifth generation in the 2022 vintage, steering a mixed agricultural operation that includes fields, vineyards, and bee colonies. The program moves across Weissburgunder, Muscaris, Grüner Veltliner, Rheinriesling, and Zweigelt. Orange elemental green wine is a maische-fermented Grüner Veltliner. Rosa Frizzante, a sparkling wine, sits alongside Weinviertel DAC Grüner Veltliner and both Grüner Veltliner and Zweigelt aged in Barrique. The tasting room opens Saturdays from 08:00 to 12:00 and by appointment.
