Volcan Mountain Winery

About

Volcan Mountain Winery sits at the base of Volcan Mountain, two miles from Julian's historic town center. Founded in 2015, the program spans white varietals like Albarino, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc alongside reds including Grenache, Barbera, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Sangiovese. The 2020 Old Vine Zinfandel draws from Lopez Ranch, vines planted in 1918. The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon aged over two years in European and French oak. The 2018 Meritage blends Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec. Hand-crafted and responsibly produced, the work is available to taste on-site. The tasting room welcomes dogs, offers food, and opens onto a picnic area.
