Walter Tauchner believes you must be able to talk to the grapevine. In Krems an der Donau, the family tends steep vineyard slopes and terraces by hand, mowing without glyphosate and mulching terrace edges with straw from their own fields to close the nutrient cycle. Erwin manages operations while Magdalena oversees harvest selection, Barbara handles marketing, and Herta tends to customers. The program centers on Gelber Muskateller, a wine of elderflower, lychee, and exotic fruit, recommended as an aperitif or with summer cuisine. The tasting room opens Fridays from 14.00 to 18.00, or by advance reservation any day.
