About Stone Cliff Winery
Stone Cliff Winery occupies the Historic Star Brewery building in the Port of Dubuque, where original tin ceilings frame views of the Mississippi River and the historic train bridge. Bob and Nan Smith founded the winery in 2001, though vines were planted in 1995. The program produces Purple Cow wine and Dubuque Star Beer, which the Smiths acquired the rights to in 2022. Tasting flights of five local Iowa wines run $15, as do Dubuque Star Beer flights. Lunch is served weekdays from 11AM to 2PM. Live music plays Friday and Saturday nights from 6 to 9PM and Sunday afternoons from 3 to 6PM, with no cover charge.
