Schauer has been established in Kitzeck im Sausal since 1757. Stefan and Bernhard Schauer now lead the house, following their parents Karl and Elisabeth. The program centers on Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling, with particular focus on the Sauvignon Blanc Kitzeck-Sausal. This wine ferments spontaneously and ages twelve months in used large oak barrels. The 2024 vintage earned a 93 from Falstaff. The work unfolds across six named vineyard parcels: Ried Gaisriegl, Ried Hinteregg, Ried Höchtemmel, Ried Theresienhöhe, Ried Steinriegl, and Ried Sulz. A Buschenschank operates in Kitzeck, and guest rooms sit directly at the winery.
