Gerngross was founded in 1956 in the Sausal region of Südsteiermark, where vineyards sit at 600 meters elevation on red and blue slate soils. The house produces certified organic wines across three varietals. Welschriesling and Gelber Muskateller both reach 12.0% alcohol, while Weißburgunder climbs to 12.5%. A Buschenschank operates seasonally, Thursday through Sunday from April to November, with weekend service in February and March. Wine sales happen daily from 10:00, by appointment during winter months.
