Pomar Junction Vineyard

About

Pomar Junction Vineyard is located in the El Pomar District in the Paso Robles AVA, where the Merrill family's agricultural heritage dating back at least eight generations on California's central coast meets Jim Shumate's work as a Cal Poly SLO enology professor. Founded in 2002, the vineyard's first vintage was made from Cabernet Sauvignon. Winemakers Jim Shumate and Matthew Merrill lead the program, with Dana and Marsha Merrill farming the vineyards. The portfolio includes Cabernet Sauvignon, Bordeaux Blend, and Rosé. The Cab Forward Bordeaux Blend received 94 points. Certified to the SIP program within the Central Coast Vineyard Team, the work reflects the family's commitment to sustainable practice.
