About Optio Vineyards
Optio Vineyards, founded in 2014 in Paso Robles, centers on LaMar Vineyard, an estate holding in the Geneseo AVA at 1,100 feet elevation. Aaron Jackson, who studied viticulture at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and earned a Master's in Oenology from the University of Adelaide, is the winemaker. The house specializes in Spanish and Rhone blends, working with Chardonnay, Grenache, Tempranillo, Petite Sirah, and Mourvedre in very small lots. Releases arrive twice yearly, in spring and fall. The 2022 Estate Tempranillo earned 96 Points Double Gold.
