Piemaggio

About Piemaggio

Twelve hectares across the Tuscan hills, planted between 380 and 420 meters elevation and trained using the Guyot technique. The cellar, renovated in 2014, holds 100 HL steel vats for temperature-controlled fermentation. The program centers on Chianti Classico. Le Fioraie, the flagship, is 90% Sangiovese with Colorino, Canaiolo and Ciliegiolo, macerated for around 25 days, then aged 18 months across concrete vats, French oak casks and tonneaux. The Riserva version, produced only in the finest vintages, follows the same blend but ages for 36 months. Beyond Chianti, Piemaggio makes an Indicazione Geografica Tipica that blends Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
