About

Darlene Gabbard, a member of the Lumbee tribe, owns and operates the first American Indian owned winery in the country. Native Vines is located on 36 acres of rolling pasture and woodland in Lexington, North Carolina. The winery is known for Green Tea Wines, made using 100% organic tea with no fruit or grapes. White Buffalo has won a Best In Show Award, 7 Gold Medals and numerous silver and bronze medals. Blueberry Splash earned a 2023 Double Gold award. Native Red won a 2016 Gold Medal and 3 silver medals. Chief's Blend won a 2022 Silver Medal. The portfolio is distributed throughout the state and shipped nationwide. Tastings are $15 per person, include 6 wines of your choice and a souvenir stemless glass, and require no reservation. An outdoor patio and picnic tables are available on the property.
