About
Maurer am Hohenberg in Gleisdorf works across three tiers of production. Classic wines carry typical varietal character and multi-layered fruit aromas, made through traditional Styrian methods. Select wines come from very good vineyard sites, harvested at high physiological ripeness with reduced yields. Finesse wines draw from the oldest vines in the best sites, hand-harvested in limited quantities. The Sauvignon Blanc Classic took silver at the Sauvignon Selection by CMB, the world's largest Sauvignon Blanc competition. Three wines reached the finals of the region's 100 best. The house also produces Sekt using traditional method, natural Champagne yeasts, and bottle riddling.
