Gary Barletta began making wine in his grandfather's basement in 1976. Decades later, he and his wife Rosemary established Long Point Winery in Aurora in 1999, overlooking Cayuga Lake. The 10-acre vineyard produces Cayuga White, Riesling, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer, Vidal Blanc, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Syrah, Zinfandel, and Rosé. The Zinfandel Reserve 2023, aged 36 months in new Hungarian oak, and the Cayuga Reserve, an off-dry white from the Finger Lakes AVA, are among notable offerings. Wines have been recognized at the Great American Wine Competition and Finger Lakes International Wine Competition. The tasting room welcomes visitors, and food is available.
