About
The Herzog family's winemaking story spans continents and centuries. Founded in 1848, the house supplied wine to Franz Josef, emperor of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, and one early Herzog earned the royal title of Baron. In 1948, the family left Europe and established Kedem Winery in the Hudson Valley. Today in Middletown, the program produces Kedem Estates Cabernet Sauvignon from New York State grapes. The tasting room opens Sunday through Thursday, 11 am to 4 pm. Wine club members receive three bottles quarterly, averaging $50 per shipment, plus 20% off wine club shipments and 20% off regular-priced wine at the winery and one complimentary private event annually. Shipments stay within New York State.
