About
Planted in 1976, on a hillside above the Delaware River Valley in Bangor, Pennsylvania. Elaine Pivinski founded Franklin Hill Vineyards with no farming background, teaching herself the work through Penn State and Cornell. In 1982, it became the first winery in the Lehigh Valley, and it grew into one of the largest in Pennsylvania. It stands as the oldest winery and vineyard in the region. Bonnie Pysher has served as head winemaker for 42 years. The operation runs on 75 solar panels. The main winery sits at 7833 Franklin Hill Road in Bangor, with a second tasting location, The Grape Arbor, on Main Street in Bethlehem.
