Jay, who earned his doctorate at UC Davis after serving as head winemaker at Cedar Ridge in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, leads the program at Fountain City Winery in Kansas City's West Bottoms District. The portfolio spans nine varietals, from Vidal Blanc and Riesling to Chambourcin, Frontenac, and Cabernet Sauvignon, each bottled under names like Arabesque Breeze, Trumpeter, Old Lions, and Beary Amusing. The tasting room welcomes visitors without reservation, pouring wine alongside beer and seasonal cocktails. The space accommodates events for up to 200 people.
