About Feuerwehr-Wagner GmbH
The Wagner family has tended vines in Vienna for more than 330 years. Their cellar's oldest section dates from the 17th century. In 1784, following Emperor Josef II's legal regulation of wine sales in Vienna, they began serving their own wines. The name Feuerwehr-Wagner arrived around 1900, when Josef Wagner, the last volunteer fire chief of Heiligenstadt, was associated with the operation. Today the vineyard spans 11 hectares across Vienna and Klosterneuburg Weidling. A 1972 renovation expanded the heuriger into seven rooms across two levels, where guests find warm and cold buffet offerings with seasonal specialties. The house holds certifications for sustainability, the AMA Genussregion, the Austrian Environmental Label, and vegan practices.
