Franklin Houser purchased the property in the 1970s, then stepped away from law practice in the 1990s to build a wine business from what began as a hobby. DRY Comal Creek Vineyards, in New Braunfels, operates Thursday through Monday, noon to six. Tastings run forty-five minutes to an hour, five wines per flight, twenty-five dollars per person. Groups cap at six, all attendees must be twenty-one and up, and the last pour is at five fifteen.
