About Domaine Clos des Vignes du Maynes
Monks of Cluny planted vines here in 910. Pierre and Jeanne Guillot purchased the domain in 1952, and it has remained in the family ever since. Pierre Guillot, Alain Guillot, and Julien Guillot make the wines today. Organic since 1954, biodynamic since 1998, when Julien arrived and oversaw the conversion. White wines are pressed directly. Red wines undergo semi-carbonic maceration. The wines are made with indigenous yeasts, no enzymes, no chemical inputs, and minimal or no filtration and sulfur. A vine sponsorship program offers customers ownership of a single vine for five years, with one bottle annually.
