About Compass Rose Cellars, Inc.
William Blackmon founded Compass Rose Cellars in 2015, bringing nearly four decades of experience in the Texas wine industry. The vineyard sits at Blackmon Ranch, nine miles west of downtown Mason, in Hickory Sand soil within the Texas Hill Country AVA. Blackmon first visited Mason County in 1996. The program centers on Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, and Petit Verdot. A tasting room on the Mason square hosts two experiences by appointment, Friday and Saturday.

BLACKMON TABLE
90 minute tasting hosted by William Blackmon. Experience the terroir of the estate wines from Blackmon Ranch Vineyard, grown in the Hickory Sands of the Texas Hill Country AVA. Cost: $50 per person. Available Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 11:00 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m.
BLACKMON ROOM
45 minute tasting of 3 BLACKMON estate wines. Cost: $30 per person. Available Friday & Saturday, 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
