Chateau Aeronautique began in 2008 inside a hangar on a grass runway at an airpark in Onsted, Michigan. Lorenzo Lizarralde leads the winemaking program across Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Gewürztraminer, and Pinot Gris. The Gazebo Tasting Room opened in September 2009 and expanded in 2016. In 2017, production moved to Irish Hills, to an 8,000 square foot building on 26 acres. The property has since grown to include Blue Skies Brewery, a 5,500 square foot Biergarten built as a concert venue in 2020, an outdoor stage for weddings in 2022, and Mile High Distillery in 2023.
