Norm Moffatt started growing grapes and making wine as a hobby after retiring in Jackson, Michigan. What began as personal passion became Sandhill Crane Vineyards, a family operation now run by his wife Alice, daughters Holly and Heather, and sister Anne Leisinger. Everything made here uses 100% Michigan-grown fruit. The portfolio spans 35+ wines, 4 beers, and 3 ciders, all produced in house. The cafe serves fresh food made in house. Norm's Legacy, a Chardonnay and Vignoles blend, honors the founder. The 2025 Sassy Rose, a dry Cabernet Franc rosé, takes its name from Rosie, their first vineyard dog. Wine by the glass, choose-your-own flights, and beers and ciders on tap. Summer brings wine slushies, winter brings mulled wine. Indoor seating, patio, lawn, and fireplace tables. Open year round, Wednesday through Sunday.
