About Cellier De La Chapelle
Nine hectares in Dorlisheim, farmed by the Jost family since the 18th century. Thibault Jost took the first distinctions for the estate's wines in 1930. Victor Jost left livestock farming behind in the 1970s and bottled the first estate wines. Michèle joined in 1995, Edouard in 2003, and Olivier, the next generation, in 2023. The domain converted to organic farming in 2019 and is now certified across all nine hectares. All seven Alsatian grape varieties are vinified here, harvested by hand, and organized into three ranges, traditional, terroir, and exceptional. Husaren, named for a house of Hussars once found there, sits on a steep south/southeast slope between 220 and 260 meters. Kalkgrube faces south/southwest on a gentler slope, between 230 and 250 meters, and gives the conditions for the domain's exceptional red wines.
