In the northeastern foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Fizyta family works the vineyard. Wojciech and Alicja Fizyta came from Poland to America nearly 40 years ago, and it was Wojciech Leon Fizyta who founded the estate. Adam now farms as second generation vigneron, having grown the vineyard from 3 to 10 acres. Adam studied terroir and vineyard management under Kees van Leeuwen in Bordeaux, and completed stages with Jim Law at Linden Vineyards and Joshua Grainer at RdV's Lost Mountain Vineyards. The winery, completed in 2017, runs entirely on solar power. Its cellar is dug into the hill and held at or below 55°F, while the Cuverie holds concrete tanks imported from Burgundy. Members of the Catoctin Cru wine club get access to Concerto.
