Zhuka-Sano Winery was established in 2015 when a married couple, Zhuka and Sano, moved from Tbilisi to the village of Ruispiri, Telavi Municipality, in Kakheti's Alazani River Valley, and began organic wine production on an old vineyard (some of its qvevri date to 1907). The wines are made in the traditional Georgian qvevri style and bottled unfiltered, built around the local Rkatsiteli grape, and the winery belongs to Georgia's Natural Wine Association.
