Wohlmuth has worked the slopes of Kitzeck im Sausal since 1803. The vineyards here are among Europe's steepest, with nearly 100 percent slope, demanding 100% hand labor and up to 1,200 work hours per hectare. No herbicides, no insecticides. The program centers on Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc, with single-vineyard expressions from Ried Dr. Wunsch, Ried Hochsteinriegl, and Ried Edelschuh. The 2022 Sauvignon Blanc Ried Edelschuh scored 98/100 points from James Suckling. The 2022 Riesling Ried Edelschuh won the A la Carte Riesling Grand Cru Tasting for its vintage.
