Jim Frey leads the program at Walker Road Vineyards in Woodbury, Connecticut, focusing on blending grapes in a classic tradition. The cellar draws from Saint Croix, Cabernet Franc, Sangiovese, Seyval Blanc, Traminette, Sauvignon Blanc, and Marquette. Walker Road Red Table Wine, a blend of Saint Croix, Cabernet Franc, and Sangiovese with hand-dipped wax bottles, earned silver at San Francisco International in 2014 and at The Big E in 2008, 2010, and 2012. Gertrude's Garden White Table Wine, built from Seyval Blanc, Traminette, and Sauvignon Blanc, took silver at Finger Lakes in 2014 and at The Big E in 2010 and 2012. Marquette claimed bronze at Finger Lakes in 2019. The tasting room occupies a renovated 150-year-old barn, open Saturday and Sunday, May through December, noon to five. Frey was named Connecticut Wine Person of the Year in 2016.
