About Virna Borgogno
Virna Borgogno sits in Barolo, just outside the village center, where a tasting room overlooks the Cannubi vineyard. The house traces its family holdings to 1720, though the winery itself was founded in 1950. Virna Borgogno, the first woman in Italy to earn a degree in Enological Technique, began working with her father Lodovico in 1988. She and her sister Ivana now run the program, which has produced wine across three generations. The winery rebranded with the Virna logo in 2001. Four tasting experiences are available, from the Barolo MGA Experience at €30 to the Winemaker Experience at €100.
