About
VIK is located in O'Higgins in the Cachapoal Valley, Chile. Norwegian entrepreneurs Alexander and Carrie Vik founded the estate in 2004 on 327 hectares of vineyards planted across 12 distinct microclimates, nested within a 4,450-hectare nature reserve. The program produces Bordeaux-inspired blends with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Carmenère, Merlot, and Syrah. The portfolio spans VIK, Milla Cala, La Piu Belle, Stonevik, and the A line. French-Chilean oenologist Patrick Valette led the analysis of terroir, extracting 4,000 soil samples. The cellar ages wines in French oak and barroir barrels, a pioneering system crafted from native estate wood. Smiljan Radic and Loreto Lyon designed the winery's sculptural, semi-translucent roof floating above underground cellars. A retreat by Marcelo Daglio offers 22 individually themed rooms and seven private glass-walled bungalows. Milla Milla restaurant overlooks the valley, serving native ingredients from the surrounding terroir. The winery was ranked No.1 in The World's 50 Best Vineyards 2025, after No.3 in 2023 and No.2 in 2024.
