Three Boston-based wine lovers fell head over heels for New Zealand and decided to do something about it, launching Vela Wines in Central Otago back in 2011. They're making Pinot Noir and Riesling there, with most of their bottles heading back to the States under the Twelfth Night label, and they've got plans to expand into other varietals down the line.
