Two couples, Kurt and Diane Teller and Mark and Jill Thomas, friends since 2006 through a church small group. In 2009, friends invited them to DeWitt, Michigan, to make wine using home kits. They kept at it, working through several kits at a winery in Lapeer, before opening their own doors in Shelby Township in February of 2019. Wines, craft beers, and hard ciders are all made on-site there. Mark and Jill lean toward bold, dry reds, especially Malbec. Kurt favors the Orange Chocolate Port. Diane prefers smooth, fruit-forward red blends, particularly Boomerang and Indigenous. Beyond the winery, the wines show up Saturdays year-round at Eastern Market, Shed 3, and from May through September at Rochester Farmers Market, Stall 35.
