About Swiss Heritage Winery

Swiss Heritage Winery opened in Dover, Ohio in 2002, built on the foundation of a Swiss cheese factory from 1933. Hans and Nancy Schindler established the winery, now stewarded by their son Chad and grandson Carson, both winemakers continuing a multi-generational practice. The program produces over twenty varietals, with winemaking done entirely on-site. Cornerstone, aged in French oak and named for that original cheese factory, anchors the portfolio. The Cranberry wine has claimed gold medals repeatedly. Dog Gone Good Red earned two platinum awards at the 2018 Monterey International Wine Competition. Hans' Place, the tasting room and restaurant, is part of the operation.
