About Strauss
Strauss began in 1969 in Sankt Nikolai im Sausal, in Südsteiermark. Three generations now work at the winery under Herbert Strauß. The house makes Riesling, Grauer Burgunder, and Welschriesling, including the Riesling III Generation 2024, Grauer Burgunder Ried Mitterberg 2024, and Welschriesling Südsteiermark 2024. The tasting room sits in an old vaulted cellar. Strauss operates as a Buschenschank, the Austrian tradition of vineyard-side hospitality, and marked fifty years of that work in August 2019.
