About
Stockwell Cellars is a family-owned urban winery at 1100 Fair Avenue in Santa Cruz, making handcrafted single varietal wines and blends using Old World techniques paired with New World technology. The program sources grapes from central coast viticulturists devoted to meticulous farming, harvesting at lower brix levels to craft lower alcohol wines. Wild, native yeast drives fermentation rather than commercial cultures. The portfolio spans Chardonnay from Santa Cruz Mountains and Monterey County AVAs, Sauvignon Blanc from Paso Robles, and red wines sourced across Santa Cruz Mountains, Monterey, Paso Robles, and Santa Clara Valley. A second label, Casa del Herrero, pays homage to the winemaker's first craft as a steel fabricator. The cellar also produces Pinot Grigio Ramato, an orange wine expression. Tasting room hours are Thursdays 2pm to 8pm, Fridays 2pm to 9pm, Saturdays 12pm to 8pm, and Sundays 12pm to 6pm.
