About Star in the Valley
Shane Waller and Cara Mroczek established Star in the Valley in 2009 in Strasburg, Virginia, planting vines above 1,000 feet on rocky highland soils. Mroczek is a fourth generation grape grower, raised on her family's 2,000 acre farm where 40 acres were devoted to grapes. Both winemakers hold WSET Level II certifications. All wine is made on-site. The program offers traditional tastings and tasting flights. Dogs are welcome on the patio, and children are welcome to visit with their families.
