About North Mountain Vineyard & Winery
Forty-seven acres in the Shenandoah Valley, with fifteen under vine. Limestone and sandstone soils support the vineyard. Andrew Bender is the winemaker, producing Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Cabernet Franc, Zweigelt, Chambourcin, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot. The 2007 Cabernet Franc Reserve took gold at the Virginia Governor's Cup. The 2013 Zweigelt earned silver at AWC Vienna. Mountain Midnight claimed gold at the 2009 Virginia State Fair. An official stop on the Shenandoah Valley Wine Trail, the tasting room opens Wednesday through Sunday with warm baguettes, Brie, charcuterie, empanadas, and seasonal selections.
