About

Sol Rouge was founded in 2004 and farms 70 acres in the Red Hills Appellation, where slopes reach 60 percent and elevation climbs above 1800 feet. The vineyard plants nearly 6000 vines per hectare in some blocks. The portfolio spans Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah, Counoise, Cinsault, Petite Syrah, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc. Recent releases have earned Double Gold and Gold medals from the American Fine Wine Competition, with a 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon rated 94 points and a wine achieving 97 points from Wine Enthusiast, the highest rating in Lake County. Tastings are available at a partnership location in San Francisco at 485 Jefferson Street, where a $25 fee includes outdoor seating and food.
