Saxum works across multiple vineyard sites in and around Paso Robles, each contributing distinct expressions to the portfolio. Cayucos Ridge Vineyard, planted in 2018 with Estrella selection Syrah at 1600 feet elevation in the San Luis Obispo Coast AVA, sits 4.5 miles from Cayucos and 7 miles from the winery at James Berry Vineyard. The Rocket Block, a Grenache parcel at James Berry planted in 1995, feeds the program alongside Booker Vineyard, a site owned by Eric and Lisa Jensen with East and North West facing Syrah and South slope Mataro. Broken Stones, a Syrah blend with Petite Sirah, Grenache, and Mataro, spends 18-20 months in mainly new French barriques, bottled unfined and unfiltered. Saxum Somnus extends to 44 months in barrel, a counterpoint to the house's work in Syrah, Petite Sirah, Grenache, and Mataro.
