About
Pine Mountain Vineyards began in 1998 on 36 acres within the Pine Mountain-Cloverdale Peak AVA, elevation between 2,200 and 2,800 feet. John Copeland established the vineyard with Cabernet Franc on 2 acres and Cabernet Sauvignon on 23 acres, both planted that first year. An additional 11 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon followed in 2001. Thomas Rivers Brown is the winemaker. The vineyard's growing season averages 2,950 degree-days, with yields of 2.5 to 3 tons per acre. The house produces Ampère.
