Preble County's first winery, set inside a one-room brick schoolhouse built in the 1890s that has been restored and renovated. Mr Z, the winemaker, brings 40 years of experience to a tasting room recognized internationally for its wines. The portfolio runs over 20 bottlings deep. Chardonnay comes from Columbia Valley, Sangiovese from Walla Walla, Cabernet Franc from Horse Heaven Hills, and a Syrah Rosé from Yakima Valley. Roberts Red blends Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, Merlot, and Petite Sirah into a dry red. Tank 13 pairs Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Sirah with a bourbon barrel finish. PASSPORT, a Port style wine, is made from Chambourcin. Honey Buzz draws its sweetness from Ohio honey, and Rebel Red blends Fedonia and Chambourcin into something fruitier and sweet.
