Christoph Neumeister works steep slopes around Straden, in Austria's Vulkanland Steiermark, where selective hand harvesting feeds a cellar of 300- and 500-liter barrels. The program spans Sauvignon Blanc, Gemischter Satz, Zweigelt, Pinot Noir, Gelber Muskateller, Traminer, Morillon, and Welschriesling. SARMAT draws from vines over 40 years old. Ried Moarfeitl Sauvignon Blanc and Cuvée DE MERIN anchor the portfolio. Falstaff Magazine named him Winemaker of the Year in 2019.
