About
Rappahannock County, Virginia, where Pandit and Sudha Patil planted their first vines in 2004. Narmada Winery followed in 2009, with construction beginning that same year. Sudha studied winemaking with Jim Law of Linden Vineyards, and consulting enologist Tom Payette guided her through her first crushes, a relationship that continues today. The estate has grown to 20 acres, and Sudha has kept the work deliberately small, capping production at 5,000 cases a year. Since 2009, the wines have earned more than 200 gold or better medals nationally and internationally. At the 2025 Atlantic Seaboard Wine Association Competition, the 2021 Cabernet Franc Reserve and 2021 Tannat took Best of Class, alongside gold for the 2021 Cabernet Franc and 2022 Petit Verdot. The 2026 Governor's Cup brought three more golds, for the 2021 Merlot, 2021 Melange, and 2023 Reflection.
