Mirror Wine Co

Mirror Wine Co, located in Napa Valley, was co-founded by former NFL player Rick Mirer and winemaker Rob Lawson. Mirer, a Notre Dame alumnus, developed a passion for wine during his time in Napa while working with the Oakland Raiders. He is actively involved in the winemaking process, particularly in blending decisions, despite not making the wines himself. The winery produces around 1,000 cases annually, with wines crafted at Eleven Eleven, a modern customer crush facility. The winery's name reflects Mirer's last name and signifies a true representation of the terroir. The wines are sourced from premium vineyards in St. Helena and Oakville, focusing on varietals such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Chardonnay. The 2023 Mirror Chardonnay and 2017 Sauvignon Blanc showcase vibrant flavors and balanced acidity, while the red wines, including the 2022 Cabernet Franc and 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon, exhibit rich fruit profiles and smooth finishes. Mirror Wine Co is well-distributed in San Diego and Napa Valley, with a second brand, Play Like a Champion, offering wines from non-Napa locations. Additionally, Mirer is involved with the Mirer Family Foundation, which supports children's health and education initiatives.
